Tickets for Friday night’s state playoff game between Hertford County and Nash Central high schools are available online.

The game is set for a 7 pm kickoff at Nash Central, located at 4279 Nash Central High Road, Rocky Mount.

General admission is $8 per person.

All bags will be checked at the gate. Persons will be monitored with metal detectors and wand detectors.

Both teams enter the Class 2A playoff game with identical 10-2 overall records.

Hertford County, seeded #12, defeated St. Pauls, 44-38, at home in their playoff opener on Nov. 3. Last week, the Bears knocked off #5 Wallace-Rose Hill, 58-44, on the road to advance to the third round.

Nash Central, seeded #4, routed Roanoke Rapids, 47-8, in the opening round before defeating West Craven, 56-28, this past Friday night. Both of those games were at Nash Central.

The last meeting between HCHS and Nash Central came during the 2014 regular season. The Bears won that road game, 20-18.

The Bears are 5-1 all-time vs. Nash Central. The non-conference series began in 2009 where the Bears won 46-13 at Nash Central. HCHS also collected wins in 2010 (21-20 at home), 2012 (13-8 away), and 2013 (14-7 at home).

Nash Central’s lone win in the series came in 2011 when they routed the Bears, 61-21, in Ahoskie.
