COLERAIN – Brenda Gail Shearin Adams, age 61, of Wakelon Road, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Brenda was born on September 28, 1962 to Clifton Shearin and Mary West in Rocky Mount, NC. She worked with the Roanoke Chowan News Herald for many years then worked for several different pest control companies as long as her health permitted. Brenda loved her family deeply, especially her children and grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was laying out in the sun, whether it be poolside or at the beach, that was what made her the happiest. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need no matter whether she knew them or not. She had a great love of dogs and enjoyed having them around her. Brenda was loved and cherished by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Clara Beth Chappell; sister, Elaine O’Connie Vaughan; and brother, Rocky Lee Shearin.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband, John; two sons, Brandon David Fountain (Tabitha) of Tarboro, and Steven Adams of Colerain; four grandsons, Dylan Barfield, Wesley Fountain, Landon Fountain, and Brandon “Lil B” D. Fountain, Jr.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family member, and friends.

In honoring Brenda’s wishes the family will not have a service at this time.
