AHOSKIE – Hertford County High School’s varsity boys basketball team swept two Northeastern Coastal Conference opponents this week.

On Wednesday, the Bears traveled to Northeastern High School where they rallied to edge the Eagles, 55-52.

Hertford County trailed by 10 (46-36) entering the fourth quarter, but outscored their hosts, 19-6, over the final eight minutes to collect an important conference win on the road.

The Bears were scheduled to host First Flight High School tonight (Friday, Jan. 12). However, due to the threat of severe weather, that game was moved to last night (Thursday). There, HCHS pulled out a 64-60 win.

With the two wins this week, the Bears improved to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

The Lady Bears also won both their games this week, upsetting Northeastern, 40-33, on Wednesday and racing past First Flight, 55-28, on Thursday.

The HCHS ladies improved to 5-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
