Late run lifts Hawks over Young Harris

MURFREESBORO – Using a 12-0 run over the game’s final five minutes, Chowan’s men’s basketball team secured an 88-79 win over Young Harris College here Saturday in Conference Carolinas action.
The turning point in the contest was after Chowan’s Aaron James knocked down a triple to tie the game, Young Harris was called for a technical foul with eight minutes remaining.
Daylan Askew continued to score at a high rate with his 11th 20+ point outing of the season. He finished with 27 points to go along with six rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks.
RJ Wilson returned to form with a double-double, posting 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Preston Le Gassick added 12 points and five assists, while Skyler Davies added 11 points, six rebounds, and four blocks.
Chowan (12-6 overall; 6-3 in the league) hits the road to take on Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas action on Jan. 27. Tip-off is slated for 4 pm.
