GASTON – A homicide investigation is underway here after a man was found shot to death early Saturday morning at the Gaston Boat Landing.

In a press release, Northampton Sheriff’s Captain Patrick Jacobs said deputies and the Gaston Police responded to a 7:15 a.m. call regarding a one vehicle accident near the river.

Upon arrival and investigation, a 19-year old Black male was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim’s name has not been released.

The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office along with NC State Bureau of Investigation will be assisting the Gaston Police Department with this investigation.
