CU softball splits twinbill vs. UNC Pembroke

MURFREESBORO – The Chowan softball team settled for a split against UNC Pembroke in Conference Carolinas action at home on Tuesday afternoon.
UNC Pembroke won game one, 9-8, but the Hawks bounded back in game two, winning it by a 6-2 finale.
Calliope James picked up three hits, a RBI, a stolen base, and a save in the doubleheader. James tossed two shutout innings in the nightcap, allowing just one hit.
Elizabeth Ingle and Kyra Helton tallied four hits each. Helton added three RBI and a stolen base, while Ingle posted a home run, a double, three RBI, and two stolen bases.
Haileigh Boone picked up the win in the nightcap, tossing 5.0 innings.
Emily Fowler picked up three hits, with two RBI and two stolen bases.
Haleigh Reid added one hit, while Mckenzie Misenheimer posted four stolen bases, a walk, and two RBI.
Chowan hits the road to take on Erskine in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday, March 23. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 1 pm.
