Two arrested in Gaston murder

GASTON – Two men from Edgecombe County stand charged with murder here and are jailed without the privilege of bond.
Gaston Police Chief C.W. Bowser said Marquel Tyreik Hudson of Leggett and Curtis Raheem Sessoms of Tarboro, both age 22, are accused of murdering 19-year-old Sherrod Ahmad Person of Roanoke Rapids.
Information regarding a motive was not released.
Person was found shot to death at the Gaston Boat Landing, located off NC 48, on Saturday morning, March 16.
The original call – made at around 7:15 a.m. – referenced a motor vehicle accident at that location. Upon arrival of law enforcement, one male was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was deceased. That individual was later identified as Person.
The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina SBI assisted the Gaston Police in investigating the murder.
