GREENVILLE – Eighty of the best Class of 2024 basketball players in the 910, 336, 919, and 252 area codes plus many top area coaches will take part in the Clash of the Area Codes Showcase Tournament sponsored by ENC Elite Sports on Saturday March 30 at J.H. Rose High School in Greenville.

The players selected are seniors who have ambitions to participate at the college level once they have graduated.

These players have achieved many area and state accolades and will have the opportunity to compete against each other in front of numerous college coaches who are looking to add to their rosters.

Players from the Roanoke-Chowan area (252 Area Code) participating in the event are Tequan Holley (6’-6” forward) from Bertie High School, Jaliyah Mitchell (5’-10”) of Hertford County High School, and Rakiyah Peele (5’-10”) of Bertie High School.

Bertie County native Andre Cherry of Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City is the 252 Girls head coach.

The format is that there will be one team of 10 players for each area code (boys and girls). They will compete in a four-team tournament to decide the Clash of the Area Code Champion.

Gates open at 9 a.m. and general admission is $15 per person (cash only) to see all eight games. Parking for the event will be $5.
