COLERAIN, NC – Thomas Elliott Harrell, Jr., 85, of NC Hwy 42, passed away Tuesday March 26, 2024 at ECU Roanoke Chowan Hospital. He was born August 26, 1938 in Bertie County to the late Sarah Brown and Thomas Elliott Harrell, Sr. and was predeceased by a brother, Fletcher Harrell, and sisters, Barbara H. White and Molly H. Raines.
Thomas was a member of Colerain Baptist Church and the Lion’s Club. He was a mechanical project manager with R. S. Harritan Co. as well as a farmer and licensed surveyor. Thomas, an avid gardener, loved to fish for bass. He was also a scout master and coached baseball.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Colerain Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Saffell will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday April 6 at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. (2:00) Following a reception in the fellowship hall, the burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Faucette Harrell of the home; sons, Tommy Harrell and wife Judy of Raleigh, Johnny Harrell and wife, Jamee of New Bern; and Ike Harrell and wife, Pam of Clayton: grandchildren, Cameron Harrell, Elliott Harrell, Matthew Harrell, Ashley Matthews, Robert Rothberg and Evan Harrell; and great grandchildren, Jackson Orman and Ethan Matthews.
