RICH SQUARE – Traffic using a main roadway in the local area will be re-routed over the next few days.

NC 305/561 East in Rich Square will close beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday (April 19) for a crew with North Carolina / Virginia Railroad to make repairs at the crossing on East Jackson Street.

That work is expected to be completed by 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.

The marked detour, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, is to use US 258 to NC 35 in Woodland. NC 35 intersects with NC 305/561 near Tri-County Airport.

Local traffic can use Lover’s Lane, located north of Rich Square off US 258 and east of the town limits on NC 305-561, to detour around the work site.
