Three arrested for Ahoskie shooting

AHOSKIE – A shooting here Monday afternoon has resulted in the arrest of three individuals.
Ahoskie Police Chief Michele A. Garrett reported that shots were fired shortly before 4 p.m. in the 800 block of Odom Street, near its intersection with Kiwanis Street. She added there were no serious injuries as a result of the shooting.
Two arrests were made the same day in Ahoskie. Qualik Avery, age 20 of Ahoskie, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm. A male juvenile, age 16, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor.
Further investigation resulted in another arrest Monday night. Agents with the Down East Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and Bertie County Sheriff’s deputies went to Lewiston Woodville where they arrested Dre’Quan Robinson, age 20. Robinson stands charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
Garrett added that the investigation remains ongoing and there is the possibility of additional charges.
