She then moved her focus to teaching children in Christian Schools starting at Ahoskie Freewill Baptist School in Ahoskie, NC, Countryside Church School in Edenton, NC and Trinty Christian School in Greenville, NC.
Throughout her Christian Life she had another passion for teaching and mentoring women as a Women’s Ministry Leader and teacher at Countryside Church of Christ, Edenton, NC for 10 years and Christ’s Church, Greenville, NC for the last 20 years. She was a wonderful wife who inspired her husband, loved her son, and nurtured her grandchildren. Elaine’s talent was always teaching. Whether she taught children or adults there was always a theme in her message that reflected her love for Christ.
Over the last 13 years of her life, Elaine has fought the good fight against cancer. Her most inspiring comment to anyone who would listen was “this is what God has for me”. Today, what God has for her is a place in heaven, a home for eternity and a life without pain. She fought the good fight and won the battle smiling.
