JACKSON – A public school teacher in Northampton County has been arrested for alleged child abuse.
Jacqueline Manley, age 59 of Seaboard, was arrested on May 10 after being served outstanding warrants for two counts each of misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor assault on an individual with a disability.
Manley received a $4,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 30.
According to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest stems from an investigation into allegations of abuse on two separate students at an elementary school within Northampton County around the date of Aug. 9, 2022.
The name of the school was not released.
The investigation into the alleged abuse began on Dec. 20, 2023, conducted by NCSO Detective Sgt. A. Trenz.
Arrest warrants were obtained on April 4.
