Beaver Lake to host State Water Ski Championships

EURE – The Beaver Lake Ski Club will host the 2024 North Carolina State Water Ski Championships on July 13-14 at Beaver Lake in Gates County.

The three-event competition will include slalom, trick, and jump skiing and is sanctioned by the American Water Ski Association (AWSA).

This event has been held annually at various ski sites in North Carolina since 1977.

The best water skiers from across the state of North Carolina will attend to compete for title of state champion in their age divisions. Over 60 athletes are expected to attend. The age range of the skiers will range from 8 to 80, There will also be an Adaptive Skier division.

Admission is free and concessions will be available on site.

Beaver Lake is a world class water ski site and has hosted many state, collegiate and record capable competitions over the years. It is a beautiful site and a great place for families and groups of friends to come enjoy.

The competition will begin at 8 am on Saturday and Sunday.

Beaver Lake is located on Highway 13/158 in Gates County, two miles north of the Chowan River Bridge.

Swimming is allowed at the lake. The public is welcome to enjoy this fun family-oriented event.
