AHOSKIE – Alice Elizabeth Brown Tayloe, 62, of Hexlena, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville where she was surrounded by family.

Mrs. Tayloe was born in Ahoskie on April 19, 1962, and was the daughter of J.B. Brown of Ahoskie and the late Mary Alice Perry “Pug” Brown.

Employed with Powell & Stokes, Inc. in Windsor for nearly 37 years where she worked as a secretary and office administrator, she also with her husband owned and operated the family business, TNT Farms. She was a committee member of the Bertie County Farm Service Agency (FSA), and a faithful member of Askewville Assembly of God Church.

Alice enjoyed spending her time flounder fishing with Herbie, relaxing at the river, or sitting poolside watching her grandbabies swim. Those were her greatest joys, the times with her family, especially her grandbabies.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Herbie Tayloe; their children, Lauren Tayloe and Jacob Tayloe (wife, Tori); and grandchildren, Nathaniel, Eric, Amberliegh, and Josiah, all of Hexlena; and her brother, Braxton Brown (wife, Joyce) of Ahoskie. She also leaves behind many extended members of the Brown, Perry, and Tayloe families, as well as a large family of friends from her work and church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6th, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Askewville Assembly of God Church, 105 Askewville-Bryant Street, and will be conducted by Pastors Webb Hoggard and R.O. “Buddy” Denton, along with her son, Jacob. A private burial will follow in the Tayloe Family Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. in the church, or all other times at the residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to Askewville Assembly of God Church, 105 Askewville-Bryant Street, Windsor, NC 27983, where it will be directed to its Missions Fund.
