AHOSKIE – The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is hoping that the public can help them find a hit-and-run driver.

The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of NC 42 and Bonner Bridge Road west of Ahoskie.

There, according to NCHP Trooper B. Beard, Glen Weaver, 56, of Powellsville, was approaching that intersection on his motorcycle when he was struck by a passenger car.

Beard said that car – gray or dark in color, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu or a Subaru – continued west on NC 42 following the collision.

“Due to his injuries, Mr. Weaver was unable to tell us what happened,” said Beard, adding that the victim is hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of the accident.

“We hoping that someone saw something at or near that intersection around 5 p.m. Thursday. If you did, please call the Highway Patrol office in Ahoskie.”

Those with information are encouraged to call 252-332-6800 and ask for either Trooper Beard or Sgt. Williams.
