HARRELLSVILLE – Edna Odom Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family, at the age of 94. Edna was born on April 6, 1930, in Hertford County, North Carolina, where she spent her entire life dedicated to her family and community.

Edna was a devoted homemaker who skillfully managed the household, prepared meals, and cared for her children with unyielding love and dedication. She had a passion for cooking and continued to enjoy pickling, while making her famous cinnamon pickles up until her last day. She also enjoyed crochet, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family and friends forever. Edna was a devout member of the Christian Harbor Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Williams, Sr.; her father, William Clyde Odom, Sr.; her mother, Johnnie Gertrude Odom; her son, Donald Carroll Williams; and her brother, William Clyde Odom, Jr.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Hodge of Selma, NC; her son, Lloyd “Hank” Williams, Jr. and his wife Dianne of Harrellsville; her three grandsons, Brent Harrelson of Raleigh, Ethan Williams and his wife Tatayana of Killeen, TX, and Joshua Williams of Harrellsville. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, with Pastor Joe Futrell officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC.
