The doors open at 5:30 pm and the program will begin at 6 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Byrd began his NCAA Division One baseball journey as a highly recruited, nationally ranked infielder, committing to play for the top-25 ranked East Carolina University Pirates during his freshman year of high school.

His promising future seemed certain until July 23, 2022, when a life-altering boating accident changed everything.

The public can come out on Aug. 29 and hear what happened next in Byrd’s incredible journey back from this tragic incident. His story goes beyond the baseball diamond; it’s a beacon of inspiration for anyone facing personal challenges and setbacks.

“What a great opportunity for northeastern North Carolina to have Parker visit and share his story,” said Scott Williams, Northeast NC FCA Area Director. “I’m so glad FCA can bring him to one of the newer counties in our ministry region so that folks there can be inspired by someone whose life has been changed by Christ and whose faith has shaped his response to the unthinkable. He has spoken at events all over North Carolina and we’re excited to bring him to our area. You will not want to miss it”

FCA is one of the largest Christian sports ministries in America and focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Since 1954, FCA has sought to impact the world through the influence of athletes and coaches.

Locally, the Northeast NC FCA area includes the counties of Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, and Perquimans.
