WINTON – Hertford County Public Schools announces the hiring of Natasha Norman as Chief Human Resources Officer and Sophia Allmond as the Director of School Support.
Norman began her career with HCPS in 2008 as a teacher assistant, which led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in teaching. Her focus on early education, particularly teaching grades K-6, allowed her to refine her skills and deepen her commitment to student success over the next decade.
“Mrs. Norman has proven her commitment to HCPS over the years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds under her leadership,” said Dr. Jesse J. Pratt, Superintendent of HCPS
Allmond is a seasoned educator with over 30 years of experience in Virginia. Allmond’s career has spanned various roles in education, including special education and served as the Senior Coordinator for Norfolk Public Schools in Norfolk, VA. Her work has included significant contributions in areas such as attendance, truancy, discipline, alternative education, Section 504 compliance, Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practices alignment.
“We are enthusiastic about her contributions to the creation of inclusive learning environments that emphasize the social-emotional well-being of both students and staff, aiming to foster excellence and make a meaningful difference in the community,” stated Dr. Pratt.
