The 2024 regular season enters its second week for local public school football teams.

In a rare Thursday night game (Aug. 29), Hertford County suffered a 48-0 loss to perennial state powerhouse Tarboro in a non-conference game in Ahoskie. The Bears fell to 1-1 overall with that loss.

The following are the football match-ups locally for tonight’s (Friday, Aug. 30) games with all contests slated for 7 p.m. kickoffs:
