AHOSKIE – The annual gridiron battle between longtime rivals Bertie and Hertford County high schools highlights this Friday’s (Sept. 6) high school football schedule in the Roanoke-Chowan area.

Bertie will make the short drive north on US 13 to battle Hertford County in Ahoskie. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

Also on tonight’s schedule, Gates County High School, fresh off its first win of the young season last week at Pasquotank County, is on the road again this week as the Barons pay a visit to Manteo High School. That game kicks off at 7 p.m.

Northampton County is searching for its first win of the season after an 0-2 start. The Jaguars host Wilson Prep in Gaston tonight at 7 p.m.

Both of the Roanoke-Chowan area’s independent schools are on the road tonight as Lawrence Academy travels to Cary Christian while Northeast Academy visits Community Christian. Both those games start at 7 p.m.
