AULANDER – W. Hoyt Todd, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 83 in Ahoskie, North Carolina at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital. Born on February 2, 1941, in Bertie County, North Carolina, Hoyt lived a life marked by dedication to his community and profession.
Hoyt was a respected Pharmacist and the proud Owner and Operator of Aulander Pharmacy until his retirement. His commitment to the well-being of his customers and his community was evident through his many years of service and care.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Hoyt pursued his interests with passion and enthusiasm. He was a member of Aulander Baptist Church and a retired member of the Aulander Volunteer Fire Department, an avid boater, and someone who truly loved snow. His joy for life extended to traveling and taking road trips, as well as enjoying the company of family and friends over fish fries.
Hoyt was preceded in death by his father, John Reddick Todd; his mother, Rubelle Cherry Todd; and his loving spouse, Peggy Phelps Todd. He is survived by his sister, Martha Todd Thompson, as well as many cousins, and cherished friends who will remember him for his warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service with Rev. Jimmy Blythe officiating. A private burial took place at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, North Carolina.
