Ridgecroft tennis evens overall record

MURFREESBORO – After a slow start to their season, Ridgecroft School’s girls tennis team has won three of their last four matches to even their overall record at 3-3.
The latest win came on Sept. 18 when the Lady Rams defeated Northeast Academy, 7-2, at the Rose Family Tennis Courts on the campus of Chowan University.
Ridgecroft won five of the six singles matches.
Second seeded Callie Liverman defeated Lena Taylor 6-2, 6-2. At #3, Mollie Brown claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win over Brianna Robinson.
Avery Byrum, Ridgecroft’s #4 seed, defeated Summer Deloatch 6-2, 6-1. Fifth seeded Emma Castelloe posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Ella Ricks. Sixth seeded Victoria Revelle defeated MiKaylie Wells 6-1, 6-2.
Northeast Academy’s top singles player, Arland Davis, collected a 6-3, 6-2 win over Annie Batts.
Davis then teamed with Taylor as Northeast won the #1 seeded doubles match 8-6 over Batts and Liverman.
Ridgecroft won the other two doubles matches as the second-seeded duo of Brown and Byrum defeated Robinson/Deloatch 8-5 while third-seeded Castelloe/Revelle won 8-1 over Ricks/Jodi Taylor.
