MURFREESBORO – The Chowan women’s soccer team now holds an overall record of 1-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play after battling to a 1-1 draw against the University of Mount Olive here Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans moved to 2-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference with the result.
The game showcased strong performances from both sides, with the Hawks demonstrating resilience throughout the match.
Trailing 1-0, Chowan’s goal was scored by Natasha Bailey with an assist from Lily Harrison in the 28th minute.
The Hawks put up 16 total shots while the Trojans put up 18 shots in the match.
Midfielder Laura Hulme was instrumental in contributing four shots.
Defensively, goalkeeper Kirsten Petersen had a solid performance, making five saves to keep the game level.
The Hawks will play Belmont Abbey at home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 in their next match.
