AULANDER, NC – Danny Lee Farmer, born on March 2, 1955, in Hertford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. He was 69 years old.

After graduating from Ahoskie High School, Danny followed in his father’s footsteps by attending the School of Ray Farmer Masonry, where he honed his skills to become an exceptional brick mason. Later in his career, he worked at Chowan University until his retirement.

Danny was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He had a passion for the beach, relished the cool, crisp days of fall, and cherished boiling peanuts with family and friends. Though he rarely hunted, he enjoyed the camaraderie of the hunting club.

Danny Lee Farmer’s legacy of love, friendship, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Ray Anderson Farmer; mother, Evelyn Cecil Farmer; brother, Johnnie Ray Farmer; and sister, Darlene Farmer Williams.

Left to cherish Danny’s memory is his loving wife, Judy Hurdle Farmer, of the home; his son, Danny Lee Farmer II, and wife Jennifer of Aulander; his daughter, Kelsey Farmer Swiler, and husband Christian of Dallas Center, Iowa; his sister, Evelyn Rawls, and husband Ray of Aulander; his beloved grandchildren, Trey Farmer and Fayth Farmer; sister in law, Paula Farmer, and brother in law, Thomas Williams. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC, and other times at the home.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, with Pastor Greg Hurdle officiating. Burial will follow at Job Cemetery.
