AHOSKIE – Roanoke Cooperative will host its annual Clean Energy Expo from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Ahoskie Amphitheater.
This year’s event, along with a sponsorship from Advanced Energy, a non-profit energy organization based in Raleigh, will feature innovative, clean energy solutions, and provide valuable information on programs and services designed to help attendees save money while supporting sustainability.
As part of the event, Roanoke Cooperative will highlight it’s Upgrade to $ave program, which is celebrating its 10th year in 2024. This program has helped countless member-owners make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes without upfront costs, allowing them to reduce their energy consumption and lower their utility bills. This milestone underscores Roanoke’s commitment to making energy more affordable and accessible for the community.
The Clean Energy Expo will showcase a variety of exhibitors from the region and across North Carolina. Innovations in clean energy technology such as solar generators and solar panels will be on hand. Key highlights include appearances by elected officials and demonstrations of an electric school bus, a Tesla Cybertruck, and other electric vehicles.
Additionally, attendees can explore a wide range of vendors, including healthcare providers and a mobile food produce market. Local food trucks such as Lee Brothers Soul Food, CC’s Grill, and the Murfreesboro Creamy on Wheels are just a few that will be at the event.
There will be lots of prizes given away at the expo making it a fun and informative event for all.
“This annual event is one of many opportunities where we look forward to interacting and engaging with our member-owners and the surrounding communities,” said Marshall Cherry, President & CEO of Roanoke Cooperative. “It’s a time for Roanoke Cooperative to show our communities how much we value their commitment to clean energy solutions, and with programs like Upgrade to $ave and our high impact services, we’re continually finding new ways to make energy more affordable.”
Taking place during *National Drive Electric Week*, from September 27 to October 6, 2024, the Clean Energy Expo is aligned with efforts to raise awareness of the benefits of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Roanoke Cooperative’s leadership in clean energy initiatives continues to pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
