AHOSKIE – Two individuals are jailed without bond following their arrest on Friday in a homicide that occurred here Oct. 30.
Keyondez Trikell Brown, age 24, and 21-year-old Kayla Mona Boone, both of Ahoskie, are charged in the murder of Mark Jacob Lane.
Brown is charged with murder while Boone was arrested for accessory after the fact.
They are both confined in the Hertford County Detention Center and were scheduled to make their initial court appearances on Tuesday (Nov. 12).
Lane, age 25 of Ahoskie, was found deceased in the 100 block of Snipes Street around 11 a.m. on Oct. 30. Ahoskie Police Chief Michele Garrett said that Lane’s body was found outside, not at any specific residence.
The cause of death was not released.
Garrett said a motive for the murder is still under investigation.
Garrett did say that Brown and Boone were identified as the main suspects in the case following an extensive investigation by the Ahoskie Police Criminal Investigation Division, the North Carolina SBI, and the Special Investigation Unit.
