MURFREESBORO – The Chowan men’s basketball team picked up the win in Conference Carolinas action here Saturday where the Hawks soared past Barton, 99-89, inside the Hawks Athletic Center.

With the victory, Chowan improved to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Damerius Summers tied his career high for the Hawks, scoring 22 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field. Daylan Askew led the Hawks offensively with 24 points.

RJ Wilson notched double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds helping the Hawks to a plus 14 advantage on the glass.

The Hawks had 23 assists on 40 made baskets. They scored 58 points in the paint.

The Hawks will take on Conference Carolinas East division opponent Mount Olive at 4 pm on Saturday, Dec. 14.
