ELIZABETH CITY – Ella Ann Mizelle Seal, age 86, formerly of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. Born on February 13, 1938, in the town of Windsor, North Carolina.
Ann cherished life with great vibrancy, delighting in dancing at The Dance and sharing her talents in sewing and canning. Her pickles along with her chocolate pies were particularly renowned, delighting family and friends alike with their crisp and flavorful perfection.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Virginia Sewell Mizelle and Gurnie Dean Mizelle, as well as her husband, Burkette Seal, and her brother, James Charles Mizelle.
Ann is survived by her children, Burkette Seal of Jarvisburg, and Lynn Liverman of Ahoskie. She also leaves to mourn her sister, Ruby Askew of Windsor; her brother, Harold Mizelle and his wife Angela of Windsor; her sister, Mary Ralph of Chicago; her granddaughter, April Poyner and her husband David of Grandy; her grandson, Kenny Liverman, Jr. of Windsor; her great-granddaughters, Meredith Liverman, and E.J. Poyner.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service on Sunday, December 15, 2024. The visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m., followed by a celebration of Ella’s life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, officiated by Frank “Frankie” Seal.
