The hot days of practice in August, the tense moments of regular season games, and the survive-and-advance mantra of the play-offs have now boiled down to the eight schools that will vie this coming weekend for a chance to hoist a state title trophy over their heads.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has announced the schedule for the 2024 state football championships.

Championship weekend kicks off on Friday, Dec. 20 with the Class 4A title game pairing Grimsley High School of Greensboro vs. Rolesville High School. That game is set for a 7 p.m. start at Kenan Stadium on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
