WINDSOR – Mr. David Scott “Hogman” Hoggard age 62, a recent resident of New RD. and a longtime resident of Bertie County, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at ECU Medical Center in Greenville after a prolonged illness surrounded by his family.

“Hogman” was born on August 17, 1962 to the late Charles Edgar Hoggard and Mary Lynn Mizelle Hoggard who survives him. He was a 1980 graduate of Bertie High School, and worked for Mizelle Farm’s for nearly 20 years. “Hogman” loved fishing, hunting and farming.

Survivors in addition to his mother include: one son, David Scott Hoggard Jr. (Shelley) of Colerain; and one brother, Charles Anthony “Andy” Hoggard of Brooke County WV; also surviving are two grandchildren: Reagan and Hadley Hoggard.

A graveside celebration of “Hogman’s” life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Edgewood Cemetery with Reverend Preston Jernigan officiating and music provided by Lynette Jernigan. The family will receive friends at the home and also at the graveside following the service.
