Freedom Players to stage two productions

AHOSKIE – Cultivator’s Freedom Players announce their two latest productions, “The Great Gatsby” and “Charlotte’s Web”.
Show dates for “Gatsby” are Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 9. Show dates for “Charlotte’s Web” are Friday, March 21 through Sunday, March 23. Both shows will be performed at the Ahoskie Elementary School Auditorium.
“Gatsby” showtimes are 10 am on Friday, March 7; 6 pm on Saturday, March 8, and 3 pm on Sunday, March 9.
“Charlotte’s Web” showtimes are 10 am on Friday, March 21; 6 pm on Saturday, March 22; and 3 pm on Sunday, March 23.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.thecultivator.org Adults (ages 18-64) are $10; students/senior citizens (ages 5-17, 65+) are $5. Tickets may also be purchased at the Ahoskie Elementary Auditorium box office on show days.
There will be a canned food drive during the show days. Bring two canned items and receive $1 off the ticket price.
The casts are made up of local K-12 students who attend Hertford County Early College, C. S. Brown STEM, Hertford County High, Hertford County Middle, Ahoskie Elementary, Ridgecroft, Northeast Academy, Bertie Middle, Windsor Elementary, Central Middle, and home school.
Cultivator is currently seeking sponsors to assist with the preparation phase of these productions. All youth are able to participate in this unique opportunity free of charge. But, funds are needed to go to purchase costumes, props, sets, pay for printing costs, publicity and promotion.
Advertisement space is available in both playbills. Ads cost between $25 and $100 and are a great way to show support for youth arts programming.
Cultivator is a book and food access nonprofit founded in 2016. They are a 501c-3 organization that serves Bertie, Hertford, and Northampton counties. All sponsorships, contributions, and donations are tax deductible.
