Bessie Marie Raynor, 80, of Cremo Road, Colerain, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. A native of Bertie County, she was a member of Piney Woods Chapel Baptist Church, Ahoskie. Survivors include her husband, Willie Donie Raynor of the home; sons, Willie Scott Raynor of Ahoskie, Randolph Raynor and James McCoy Raynor, both of Hampton, VA, Levon Raynor of Colerain and Darrell Raynor of Georgia; daughters, Joyce Anne Ferbee of Hampton, VA, Denise Raynor of Colerain, Queen Elizabeth Raynor of Middletown, CT and Barbara Holley of Newport News, VA; sisters, Barbara Askew and Letha Askew; a brother, Joe Askew; and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 9 at Piney Woods Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Colerain. Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, is handling the arrangements.
