Jerry Wendell “Sharkey” Hale, 66, of Drum Hill Road, Corapeake, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A native if Buchanan County, Va., he was a retired nuclear pipe welder at Newport News Shipbuilding after 28 years of employment.
Hale was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Street Hale; three sons, Dallas Hale of Corapeake, Danny Hale of Gates and Terry Hale of Elizabeth City; a brother, Tommy Hale of Poquoson, VA; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, with the Rev. Billy Presley officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later time.
