Lottie Lassiter

Lottie Greenwood Matheson Lassiter passed away at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC on Thursday, December 18, 2008.
She was born on October 8, 1935, the oldest of three children born to the late Dr. & Mrs. Joseph Gaddy Matheson of Ahoskie, NC.
She graduated from Ahoskie High School and the Women’s College of North Carolina and also received a Masters Degree in Education from East Carolina University.
She was a lifelong member of the Ahoskie United Methodist Church. She was a supporter of the Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce, she served on the board for many years and also worked three years as the Executive Director of the Chamber.
In 1975 she opened That Added Touch Florist in Ahoskie and in 1982 she was selected the Working Woman of the Year.
She was an avid supporter of The Gallery Theatre, Inc where she served as actor, director, producer and President of the Board Directors. She served several years as the Executive Director of the Board until her retirement.
She also served on the Ahoskie Downtown Rehabilitation Committee from 1985 to 1987 and again in 2004 when the new committee was formed.
Lottie is survived by her three children, Paula Botto and her husband, John, and EB Lassiter Jr., all of Raleigh, and Dr. Gaddy Lassiter and his wife, Dr. Renee Banaszak, of Harrellsville; two grandchildren, Matheson and Austin; her brother, Joe Gaddy Matheson of Ahoskie; and sister, Laura Dean Gresham of Greensboro.
Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Ahoskie. Visitation, with the family, will be at the church from 10-11 a.m. followed by a memorial service.
