Charles Moore

Charles Allen Moore, Attorney at Law, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, September 15, 2008, with his children at his side in Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.
Chuck, or Wojack, as he was known to his family and friends was a graduate of ECU in 1976 and Wake Forest University in 1979. He resided in Ahoskie, NC, where he practiced law. He was a member of the NC Jaycees where he served as president for a year and Vice President for a year. He was also a member of the Young Democrats. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Ahoskie. Chuck was very active within his community and well loved.
Mr. Moore is survived by his mother, Shirley Waycaster of Connelly Springs, NC; his sisters, Barbara DeVries of Morganton, NC and Sue Ann Spurling of OK; and a brother, Ray Allen Moore also of Morganton, NC. His father, Jerry Allen Moore, predeceased him. Chuck was the legal custodian of several children and adults whom he overlooked the finances in trust funds for passed on loved ones.
He spent many years dealing with the disease diabetes, but pushed on working to support the care of his children. He was an inspiration to his family and friends. In the last weeks of his life, his long time friend, Jody Steeves, helped care for him, traveling daily to comfort and assist him. He will be deeply missed and live on in the hearts of his survivors.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Garrett Funeral Home-Ashley Chapel, 205 NC Highway 42 West, Ahoskie, NC, with Father Bill Long from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church officiating. There will be a separate service held later in Morganton, NC, for family and friends in that area.
