AHOSKIE – The good news is that an Ahoskie man reported missing last week has returned home.

The bad news is that he was immediately arrested.

Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said that 21-year-old Davarious Wilson, who went missing on Tuesday of last week, came back home on Thursday. APD Detective Sgt.

Stephen White learned of Wilson’s return and confirmed that information with an immediate family member.

However, during the course of the search for Wilson, Ahoskie Police learned that he had an outstanding order for arrest that was recently issued for failure to appear in court. Fitzhugh said he was unaware of the charges Wilson was supposed to face on his scheduled court date.

“The information we obtained from the NC Aware network (a law enforcement database) did not list that, only that Mr. Wilson had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court,” Fitzhugh said.

Wilson was arrested Thursday night and served with the order for arrest. He was released until his new court date.

“I would like to thank the media for their immediate assistance in this matter and the citizens for their concerns,” Fitzhugh said. “Also, I’d like to thank the officers for working hard on this case. Due to the circumstances I believe this case had a good ending.”

Wilson was reported missing by a family member on the morning of Oct. 2. Fitzhugh said that family member was concerned due to Wilson allegedly making recent comments that he may cause harm to himself.
