By week’s end, U.S. Senator Kay Hagan will visit all four Roanoke-Chowan area counties.

Continuing with her statewide “Conversations with Kay” series, Hagan has scheduled stops in Northampton, Hertford and Gates counties on Thursday, Nov. 8 and will conclude her R-C tour on Friday, Nov. 9 with a visit to Bertie County.

The public is invited to attend as Hagan and her staff will meet with constituents to listen to their concerns and to help them navigate issues with federal agencies, such as the VA, IRS, or Social Security Administration.

The local itinerary on Nov. 8 includes:

Hagan will meet with constituents from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Northampton Memorial Library, located at 207 West Jefferson Street in Jackson. Her constituent services staff will be on site from 1-3 p.m. to provide further assistance.

In Winton, Hagan will meet with local constituents from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, located inside the Hertford County Office Building at 704 North King Street. Her constituent services staff will be on site from 3-5 p.m. to provide further assistance.

“Conversations with Kay” will continue from 5-6 p.m. at the Visitors Center of Merchants Millpond State Park (176 Millpond Road, Gatesville) located off US 158 in Gates County. Hagan’s constituent services staff will be on site from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to provide further assistance.

On Friday, Hagan will meet with Bertie County citizens and officials from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Windsor Community Building, located at 201 South Queen Street. Her constituent services staff will be at the site from 2-4 p.m.

To date, Hagan has hosted “Conversations with Kay” in 88 counties and plans to conduct such events in all 100 counties before the end of the year.

After serving 10 years in the North Carolina State Senate, Hagan was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2008, now in the fourth year of her six-year term.

She serves on four Senate committees that are integral to the needs of North Carolina: Armed Services, Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs; Small Business & Entrepreneurship; and Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP).

Hailing from a proud military family, Senator Hagan is committed to maintaining North Carolina’s status as the “most military-friendly state in the nation.” Hagan’s father-in-law was a two-star Marine general; her father and brother both served in the Navy; and her husband, Chip, a Navy Vietnam veteran, attended Wake Forest Law School with help from the G.I. Bill. Senator Hagan has two nephews who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Since her Senate tenure began, Hagan has been focused on making her office as open and accessible as possible and ensuring constituent service is a hallmark of her office. She has opened five offices across North Carolina to serve constituents – in Greensboro, Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville and Greenville. Every Wednesday the Senate is in session, she hosts North Carolinians in her Washington office for “Carolina Coffee” where constituents can meet Hagan and her staff over coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
