WINDSOR – Bertie County Schools is seeking input from its stakeholders.
The Bertie County Board of Education is currently in the midst of a search for a new Superintendent of Schools. The board began the process earlier this year by hiring the North Carolina School Boards Association to help with the process.
As part of that process, the school district has sent out surveys to parents seeking their input on what qualities are desired in a new superintendent.
The survey is also open to all citizens of Bertie County via the internet.
Those wishing to fill out the survey can go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/77DKTQC or go to the Bertie County Schools website at www.bertie.k12.nc.us.
The survey has 25 questions and asks citizens to rate certain characteristics of a new superintendent on the basis of its importance. Those traits include management of a school district, history and being part of the community among many other areas.
At the end of the survey, citizens will also have the opportunity to share any comments with the school board.
The school board asked that this be part of the process when they initially hired the School Boards Association.
Currently, Dr. Will Crawford is serving as Interim Superintendent of Schools. His contract runs through June of 2011.
