WASHINGTON – Mr. Owen Rudolph Hall, age 82, a resident of Village Circle, Washington, died Monday, November 18, 2013 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor Scott Setzer.
Mr. Hall was born in Aulander, N.C. on March 19, 1931. He was the son of the late Owen William Hall and Mildred Daniels Hall. Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He worked in law enforcement for most of his working career. Mr. Hall worked for the N.C. Department of Corrections, the Town of Woodland, the Town of Aulander, Bertie County Sheriff’s Department, the Town of Ahoskie and the Town of Belhaven, where he served as Chief of Police.
Mr. Hall was a founding member of the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department. He was active in C. B. clubs when they were popular. In his spare time, Mr. Hall enjoyed camping. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Carolina basketball and Jeff Gordon Racing.
Mr. Hall was married to the former Bernice Morris, who preceded him in death, March 5, 2003.
Survivors include his son, Mike Hall and his wife, Jackie of Chesapeake, VA; his daughter, Lisa Hall Mizelle and her husband, Joel, of Washington; and his two grandchildren, Hayley and Kevin Mizelle, both of Washington.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times of his daughter, Lisa Hall Mizelle, 3552 V.O.A. Road, Washington.
