RICH SQUARE – Clarine Copeland Dilday, age 91 of Rich Square, formerly of Ahoskie, passed away on February 9, 2015 at the Rich Square Health Care Center in Rich Square, NC.

She was born on June 17, 1923 to William Joseph and Sallie Mizelle Copeland in Hertford County, NC. Clarine was a member of Brantley’s Grove Baptist Church and worked as a Seamstress/Sales Clerk for Belk’s for many years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Edward Dilday; and her daughter, Lynn Dilday Dunlow.

Clarine is survived by her son, Brent Dilday and his wife Gail of Ahoskie, NC; a sister, Hattie Rae C. Wiggins of Ahoskie, NC; a brother, Billy Copeland of Chesapeake, VA; two grandsons, Chris Joyner and his wife Poppy of Moyock, NC, and Jamie Dilday of Murfreesboro, NC; a granddaughter, Jessi Cullipher and husband Gary of Woodland, NC; and four great grandchildren, Colby, Emalea, Camille, and Matt.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with the Rev. J. N. Baggett officiating. The family will assemble at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
