NORFOLK, VA – Anita Dilday Bene’, 84, departed this life to be with the Lord on April 14, 2015.

She left behind to cherish her memory, her beloved son, William H. Bene’ and his wife, Tracey; her three grandchildren, Eryn, Crystal and Tiffany; her niece, Mary Perry and family; her nephew, Michael Dowdy and family; and a host of loving friends.

Anita worked for Virginia International Terminals for over 40 years as an executive secretary and communications manager.  She was actively involved in various business and professional organizations such as Traffic Clubs International and Women of the Moose.  She loved fund raising, organizing events, and helping others in need.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service, 205 NC Hwy 42 West of Ahoskie, NC.  Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Cool Spring Baptist Church located at 1460 NC 137, Eure, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, ACCA Shrine Center, 1712 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond, VA 23227-3920.
