WILLIAMSTON – Dorothy Leggett Parker, 85, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2015.

Dot was born in Martin County on January 11, 1930 to the late Robert and Dorothy Leggett.  She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin W. Parker in 2010.

She is survived by her son, Robbie and wife Malinda; and two grandchildren, Scott Parker of Murfreesboro, NC and Brad Parker and wife Rachel of Satellite Beach, FL. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Carolyn Bondurant; and a brother, Bobby Leggett and wife Vicky.  Also surviving are sister-in-law LaVelle Hall and husband Lee and several nieces.

She enjoyed her membership in the DAR and the Dorcas SS Class and enjoyed her work with genealogy. She was employed by Roanoke-Chowan Hospital for 27 years and also as an administrative assistant at First Baptist Church, Ahoskie.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 21 at Memorial Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the home of Robbie and Malinda.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Baptist Church (Lottie Moon) or Chowan Christian Scholarship at Chowan University, One University Place, Murfreesboro, NC 27855.
