WINDSOR – The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a fugitive believed to have been involved in a Halloween weekend shooting.
William Felton Harris, a black male, is wanted for questioning in a shooting that occurred on Saturday Oct. 31 at 105 B Lake Drive in Lewiston.
Bertie County Sheriff John Holley says he believes Harris may still be in the Lewiston area.
“I feel confident we’re going to get him,” Holley told the News-Herald on Tuesday. “We feel like he is still in Bertie County.”
Holley advises anyone who comes across Lewis to approach with caution because he is believed to be armed and considered dangerous.
Arrest warrants for Harris are on file with the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office. He is wanted on one count of discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of going armed to the terror of the people, and one count of injury to real property.
If located please contact Sheriff Holley at the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office or call 252-794-5330.
