Larry Williams

KANKAKEE, IL – Larry Williams was born and raised in Murfreesboro, NC on January 9, 1961 to the late Ray Williams, Sr. and Dora Lee Boone Williams. He departed this life on January 1, 2016 in Kankakee, IL at his residence.
He graduated from Murfreesboro High School in 1979. After completing high school he moved to Philadelphia to study at the Philadelphia Art Institute. He returned to Murfreesboro and completed his associates degree in Fashion Merchandising at Chowan University.
He furthered his education at NC Central University in Durham with a BA in Communications and Literature. He worked with the Kankakee County CVB where he held the position of Executive Director.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three sisters, Amanda Williams White (Willie R.) of Ahoskie, NC, Betty Jenkins (Ray) of Murfreesboro, NC, and Melissa Diehl (David) of North Wales, PA; two brothers, Ray Williams, Jr. (Bessie) of Ahoskie, NC, and Minister James O. Williams (Evelyn) of Raleigh, NC; one aunt, Classie Pope of Como, NC; one uncle, Willie Boone of Murfreesboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Murfreesboro, NC.
