WINDSOR – Shirley Jean White Harden, 77, of 737 White Oak Road, died Friday March 11, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Aulander, NC January 24, 1939 to the late Woodrow and Beulah Mae Baker White. Shirley was a nurse’s aide and worked with Vidant Bertie Memorial Hospital and Dr. Joseltio Almario.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askewville Assembly of God Church by Rev. Timothy Parker and Rev. Stephen Moore. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Wayne Harden of the home; sons, Donald Harden and wife Vonda, and Harold Harden and wife Lenell, all of Windsor; brother, Richard White (Patrica) of Aulander; sisters, Virgia W. Bordeaux of Roper, Lillian Wolfe (Charlie), Rebecca W. Himelright (friend Donald Stroud), and Ethel Mizelle (Bobby), all of Aulander, Linda Megill of Williamston, and Judy Briggs of Fredericksburg, VA; and grandchildren, Pamela Jean Harden, Freda Renee Harden and Alyssa Ann Harden.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Walker Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m. and from the home at other times. Memorial gifts may be made to Askewville Fire Department c/o Mike Baker 117 W. Askewville Street, Windsor, NC 27983.
