Beverly D. Futrell

WINTON, NC – Beverly Jane Davidson Futrell, 87, of The Fountains at The Albemarle, Tarboro, and formerly of Winton, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Tarboro.

Mrs. Futrell was born July 14, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Kirby Butler Davidson and Pansy Odell Taylor Davidson. A graduate of Harrellsville High School, she was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother, and a longtime member of Winton Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Leroy Futrell, Sr.; and by her brother, Jackie Oliver Davidson.

Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Ann Futrell Smith of Courtland, VA and Martha J. Futrell of Greenville; a son, W.L. Futrell, Jr. of Santa Fe, NM; a sister, Nellie Davidson Chamblee of Cofield; four grandchildren, Jane Smith of Dedham, MA, Lisa Futrell Evans and husband Mark of Kill Devil Hills, April D. Lassiter of Wilmington, and Charles R. Lassiter and wife Ginny of Greeville; and three great-grandchildren, Haley and Colby Evans of Kill Devil Hills, and Blade Lassiter of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. in Winton Baptist Church. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery, with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family in the social hall immediately following the service.
