CONWAY – A mother, son and another family member stand charged in a case of alleged illegal drug activity at their home in Conway.

Joyce Daye Sneed, 64; her 32-year-old son, Damien Lamont Daye; and family relative Brandon Daye, age 32, face drug charges on the heels of a search warrant being executed on Thursday at 108 Flythe Street in Conway by the Northampton County’s Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

According to information provided by Lt. A.J. Thomas of the NCSO Narcotics Division, Sneed was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sale and deliver marijuana, and felony maintaining a dwelling place for the purpose of storing a controlled substance. Sneed was found in possession of 24 grams of marijuana.

Thomas said Sneed was jailed under a $4,000 secured bond and made her initial appearance in Northampton County District Court on Thursday.

Damien Daye of the same address was charged on North Carolina Uniform Citation with simple possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was given a court date of April 19.

Brandon Daye of the same residence was also charged on citation with possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He is also scheduled to make a court appearance on April 19.

Lt. Thomas said the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and Conway Police Department both had been fielding numerous complaints as it relates to drug activity at the Flythe Street residence. That led Thomas to obtain a search warrant.

This operation was a cumulative investigative effort between the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and the Conway Police Department. Thomas added that the Jackson Police Department and the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office were vital to the success and execution of the search warrant.

Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith commended Lt. Thomas, the Conway and Jackson Police Departments and the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office.

“The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate all illegal drug activities and will continue to work with all law enforcement agencies in this county and surrounding agencies,” Smith said.
