Adolph M. Harrell

AHOSKIE – Adolph Menjue Harrell, age 83, of Ahoskie, NC, passed away May 23, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Harrell was born September 15, 1932, the son of the late Raleigh Harrell and Nettie Sumner Harrell. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Walter Harrell, Ralph Harrell and Joseph Harrell; and sisters, Evelyn Palma, Linda Martorano and Mary Lou Harrell.

He was a lifelong member of Center Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He also served in the US Army from 1952 until 1954. He was a retired Postmaster.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Harrell; his daughters, Cheryl Mizelle (Faron), and Cindi Jernigan (Vandy); his sons, Tim Harrell and Jerry Harrell (Natalie; his sisters, Barbara Perry, Lucy Paul, Faye Askew, and Eleanor Runfola; his grandchildren, Erik Jernigan (Sherri), Brooks Jernigan (Kelly), Blane Jernigan (Morgan), Jordan Parker

(Brian), Jody Mizelle, Noah Harrell, and T.C. Harrell (Moriah); and his great grandchildren, Damon and Mason.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Mullens officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 331 Center Grove Road, Ahoskie, NC.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Center Grove Baptist Church or to Gideon”s International.

Arrangements are being handled by Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC.
