EURE – Rebecca Slade Langston Tinkham, 76, of 138 Tinkham Road, Eure, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Mrs. Tinkham was born in Gates County on February 27, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Timothy O. and Rebecca Slade Langston. A homemaker, in years past she had worked with her sister at Nell’s Florist in Murfreesboro. She was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Liverman; and a brother, Bill Langston.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Roland L. Tinkham; her daughter, Jackie Taylor and husband Glenn of Eure; her son, Mike Tinkham and wife Angela of Cherokee; two brothers, Otis Langston of Gretna, VA and John Langston of Norfolk, VA; three grandsons, Kevin Terry, Nick Terry, and Neil Tinkham; and two great-grandsons, Kayden and Tristen Terry.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 14 at 4 p.m. in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery and will be officiated by family friend, The Rev. Wayne Gardner, and her pastor, The Rev. Joe McKnight.

Friends may join the family at the residence.
